Smart App Banner Validator
Validate your iOS Smart App Banner meta tag implementation and identify configuration errors that prevent the banner from showing.
What It Does
iOS Smart App Banners are the native banners that appear at the top of Safari when a user visits a website associated with an App Store app. They show the app icon, name, rating, and a download or open button. For apps with a web presence, they're one of the better mobile acquisition channels. But they require a specific meta tag that's easy to misconfigure. This tool checks whether your implementation is correct.
Features
- Fetches the apple-itunes-app meta tag from any public URL
- Validates the app-id, affiliate-data, and app-argument parameters
- Checks that the App Store link resolves correctly
- Renders a preview of what the banner will look like in Safari
- Lists common errors: wrong app ID format, missing required fields, conflicting meta tags
